Spotted on the street with it’s front wheels cheekily cocked out to the side, this 4L compliments the street scene perfectly. I love the collection of the postbox, pharmacy window and glossy poster on display.

Picture perfect Périgord Noir
Whilst spring never really showed up this year, summer arrived with a bang at the beginning of July and doesn’t look set to end any time soon. The reliable good weather has been ideal for landscape photography, especially at sunrise. After all, it’s a little less painful to set the alarm for 5.30am when you’re confident that you’ll be rewarded with clear conditions. Continue reading Picture perfect Périgord Noir
A second look
Having lived in the Dordogne for just over a year now, I have become accustomed to seeing the old buildings, streets and monuments that give the area its distinctive character. I realised recently that this acclimatisation has gone so far as to have me ignoring some of the natural beauty around me. Continue reading A second look
Let sleeping cats lie?
One of the reasons I moved to the Dordogne was for the slower pace of life. When I lived in England, people seemed to be always on the run, desperate to try and do as many things as possible (either trying to make or spend money usually). Sarlat street scene
Spring is well under way and plants and flowers in the Perigord Noir corner of the Dordogne are all flourishing madly. My intention for this week was therefore to take some macro shots of the beautiful displays in the jardin publique at Sarlat. Continue reading Sarlat street scene

Renovation at Le Moulin
Earlier this year, my sister and brother-in-law bought a converted mill in the village of Cenac here in the Dordogne. The house is in need of renovation and Richard (my brother-in-law), has spent the last three weeks gutting the interior to prepare the way for the builders. Continue reading Renovation at Le Moulin
Ageing Tractor Diptych

- A 2-leaved hinged tablet folding together to protect writing on its waxed surface.
- A picture or series of pictures (as an altarpiece) painted or carved on two hinged tablets.
- A work made up of two matching parts.

Winter sun at La Roque Gageac
A trip to the mairie at La Roque Gageac and a brief spell of winter sun allowed me the opportunity to take these three photos today. A stark change from last week’s snow covered images. Continue reading Winter sun at La Roque Gageac
