One of the reasons I moved to the Dordogne was for the slower pace of life. When I lived in England, people seemed to be always on the run, desperate to try and do as many things as possible (either trying to make or spend money usually). This feeling was often re-inforced by the non-stop bombardment of advertisements encouraging such behaviour. Here, things seem a little different. Thinking about things to photograph for this blog has recently provided me with the following spark of inspiration.
One of my favourite genres of photography is photojournalism. Effectively, photojournalists attempt to tell stories through photographs by documenting people and events around them. My spark of inspiration was therefore to attempt to use a photojournalistic style to photograph people and events in my own surroundings and publish those pictures and stories on this blog.
