As in most regions of France, many towns in the Dordogne still host a weekly market. As one of the principle towns in the Dordogne, the market in Sarlat is held twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays, all year round.
I don’t visit the market every week, preferring to go when the sun is shining and it’s not too cold. However, when I do go, I like to take the camera along and photograph some of the produce on offer. Notable items for sale this time were bunches of daffodils and large flat strawberries.
All of the above were taken with the Canon 50mm f1.8. The wide aperture made it possible to create a shallow depth of field and pleasing background blur whilst the small physical size of the lens makes it fairly discrete for taking photographs in this kind of situation.
Thanks for looking!
